These are basic Japanese sword arts. Iaido is the art of drawing the samurai sword. Jodo is a defense against the sword using an approximately 48-inch long hardwood stick. These arts are approached as a form of martial arts meditation. A sword, bokken, dogi, hakama and wide belt and a jo are required to participate in this class. We do not require all equipment be purchased at one time. Ranking is available for qualified students through respected organizations.
